The distinct style for 2009 has been the empire. This dress has a cut that fits tight under the bust and then floats away from the body. You may recall celebrities such as Jessica Alba, Cate Blanchett, and Nicole Kidman wore empire dresses on the red carpet at the 2008 Academy Awards.
